Yeray González Nuez
Yeray González is a young trumpet player born in the Canary Islands. He has just finished his degree in trumpet interpretation. He is currently trumpet of the Gran Canaria Big Band, of the Gran Canaria Wind Orchestra and trumpet soloist of the Canary Youth Orchestra. Currently, he also works as a soloist with bands and orchestras in many countries.
He has received lectures from some of the world's most prestigious trumpet players, notably John Miller, Pierre Dutot, Kristian Steenstrup, Otto Sauter, Rex Richardson, Luis González, Jordi Albert, Alistair Mackie, Sebastián Gil Armas, Andrei Kavalinski, Gabriele Cassone, Manuel Blanco, Mary Elizabeth Bowden, etc. He was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Northern College of Music and also at the prestigious Royal College of Music Conservatory, considered the No. 1 conservatory by The Guardian in 2015.
Award in contests:
-First prize in the category Grand Prix 1 in the competition "Varazdin International Woodwind and Brass Competition" in 2017.
-Finalist in the Young Interpreters Francisco Gourie Competition.
-Finalist in the contest of Young Interpreters organized in 2016 by the Municipal Band of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
-Finalist in the contest of Young Interpreters organized in 2018 by the Municipal Band of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
-Winner of the prize for the best Canarian interpreter in the International contest organized by the Maspalomas International Trumpet Festival in 2018.
Yeray González is considered one of the young promises of the trumpet of the Canary Islands with concerts and master classes this year in Mexico, China, etc.
